At an early age, I demonstrated my love for art. My parents supported my notable skills with all the tools I needed to draw at home. I was able to sketch with just looking at any image and recreating it with ease. In my school days, I went to art classes and enjoyed learning all art mediums.
In 2012, after moving back to Los Angeles from Houston years later I experienced a few traumatic events and as a coping mechanism I would listen to music and read magazines as a way to distress. One day I decided to cut out some images from one of the copies I was reading, put it on paper and this was when I became back in love with art and loved the idea of doing paper abstract art.
For many years it was just a fun hobby to make small pieces for friends and family then in 2016 I created an abstract piece for Nicole Murphy called “Smize” and Michael Strahan called “Giant” which gained a lot traction and others wanting my art for themselves.
Now I receive fun commissioned pieces where I can let my mind run free on creating images on paper canvases. I have gained the title ‘queen of paper art’ by some fans. My social media handle: ‘abstract lover’ is exactly that, I love abstract art and it’s my FAVORITE medium!
My art medium is 100% paper! I use only magazines, newspapers or colored paper to create images. If you take a look at ALL of my art, I focus on love, hearts, and hidden messages. Also, I incorporate a story-line and/or music so you can enjoy the process from start to finish with each piece.
Besides doing art, Im also the Los Angeles curator for the Abstract Lover Art Exhibitions that are monthly pop art shows in different venues and virtual. The exhibitions features 20+ artists, fashion designers, and DJ’s.
